The progress entirely depends on how consistently, intelligently, and sincerely one spends time with the instrument on a regular basis. Beginners

Payments can be made through PayPal, Wise (International Bank Transfer), or Direct Bank Transfer. Fees may be paid in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD or other major currencies depending on your country of residence.
Students in India:
Payments can be made via UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM) or through Direct Bank Transfer (NEFT / IMPS / RTGS).
Fees & Payment Policy
- Fees are payable quarterly in advance.
- Complete the payment before the commencement of each quarter.
- Email or WhatsApp your payment receipt / transaction confirmation for verification.
- Class schedules will be confirmed after successful payment verification.
- Fees once paid are generally non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Guru.
- International students may pay via PayPal, Wise or Bank Transfer, while Indian students may use UPI or Bank Transfer.

Anyone with a genuine interest in learning the sitar can join. We welcome children aged 8 years and above, teenagers, adults, senior citizens, beginners, intermediate learners and advanced musicians from anywhere in the world.
No. Beginners are guided from the very basics, including posture, tuning, mizrab technique, rhythm and foundational ragas.
The training is based on the authentic traditions of the Senia Beenkar Gharana, preserving the Guru–Shishya Parampara while adapting to modern teaching methods.
All classes are personally conducted by Arup Ratan Mukherjee, an accomplished sitar exponent, performer, composer and educator with over two decades of teaching experience.
Yes. Students from India and across the world attend live online classes through high-quality video sessions.
Yes. Offline classes are conducted at Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, by prior appointment.
Individual one-to-one classes are available, allowing personalized guidance according to the student's level, pace and musical goals.
A regular class lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Yes. We offer one complimentary interactive session of 15–20 minutes so that prospective students can understand the teaching methodology before enrolling.

Owning a sitar is recommended. If you do not have one, guidance will be provided regarding selecting and purchasing a suitable instrument.
Yes. We guide students in selecting an appropriate instrument based on their experience level and budget.
Beginners are encouraged to practise for 30–45 minutes daily, while advanced students may practise for one to three hours depending on their goals. Consistent Riyaz is the key to progress.
Recordings may be provided when appropriate, enabling students to revise lessons at their own pace.
Yes. Students receive notations, practice exercises and guidance for systematic Riyaz.
Certainly. Students are trained in concert presentation, accompaniment, stage etiquette, microphone techniques and confidence-building.
Yes. Students can be prepared for music examinations, university practicals and performance assessments.
